Camino de Santiago

How to Use CaminoPlans

Your step-by-step guide to planning the perfect Camino de Santiago pilgrimage.

1. Choose Your Route

Browse all 11 Camino routes on the Routes page. Each shows the start, end, total distance, and estimated days. Click any route to start planning it.

2. Pick Your Starting and Ending Points

On the planner, select where you'll begin and end your walk. You can start from the official beginning or any town along the way — great for shorter trips.

3. Choose Your Dates

Pick your departure date. The planner automatically calculates each day's date so you know exactly when you'll arrive in each town.

4. Review Your Itinerary

We generate a day-by-day plan with distances, elevation, difficulty, and weather. Click any day to see details, or any town to read its guide.

5. Book Your Stays

Each day has a 'Check availability' button that opens Booking.com with your dates and town pre-filled. Mark each stay as 'reserved' once booked.

6. Get Your Pilgrim Credential

Before you go, get a pilgrim passport (credencial) from your first albergue. Stamp it twice daily to earn your compostela in Santiago.

7. Read the Gear Tips

Visit our Gear Tips page for a bulletproof packing list, health advice, and everything you need to walk comfortably and safely.
